Every winter we are again reminded why we love to travel to tropical (and warm) locales. Forget the snow boots, and give us some flippers, a snorkel mask and sunscreen! Here are our top picks for your next winter getaway that don't involve lengthy flights and certainly won't break the bank!

Cancun, Mexico

Cancun is easily accessible from many major airports in the U.S., yet its moderate winter weather, turquoise waters and palm trees would have you thinking you are far, far, away from the blistery winter back home. Cancun is a great destination for both families and couples alike, and there is never a lack of activities from lounging on the beach, scuba diving and snorkeling, visiting Mayan ruins or experiencing the fabulous nightlife of the Riviera Maya.
