The Douro is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula and flows across northern-central Spain and Portugal to its outlet in Porto. The region is famous for port wine, which is wine fortified with Brandy. The area is relatively new to tourism, which offered the group a unique experience not had by many.
