The Travel Club Sails the Douro River
Last Updated: March 27, 2025
Recently the Travel Club cruised down the Douro River from Lisbon to Porto along the border of Portugal and Spain. The Douro is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula and flows across northern-central Spain and Portugal to its outlet in Porto. The region is famous for port wine, which is wine fortified with Brandy. The area is relatively new to tourism, which offered the group a unique experience not had by many.
The Travel Club offers clients an opportunity to visit places, and experience itineraries that are completely unique and new. River cruising offers travelers the ability to reach hidden gems that only land travel provided in the past, but with the convenience of needing to only unpack once.
Because the Club travels with the owners, the hassle of planning what to see and when is completely taken care of, and more time can be spent just enjoying the ride.
